Orchard to pouch

Gathered, cut, kept simple

Rows of macadamia trees at sunrise, seen from above

Harvested April to June

The nuts are gathered off the orchard floor once they fall, and the husk comes off straight away.

Cut in the shell

Every shell is cut so it opens easily, and each pouch carries a nut key to finish the job.

Roasted, then packed

The salted ones are roasted in an industrial oven, then everything is packed in resealable pouches.

A nut key in every pouch

Open one in three moves

Every shell is cut before it is packed, so the key does the rest. Worth showing at the shelf.

  1. The OGA koala sliding a nut key into the cut in a macadamia shell

    Insert the key

Slide the nut key into the cut in the shell.

  2. The koala twisting the key as the shell opens

    Twist

Turn the key and the shell opens.

  3. The koala eating the macadamia

    Shell off

Discard the shell and eat the macadamia.
